Report: US journalist Hersh says CIA behind N Streams sabotage

MOSCOWWASHINGTON, Feb 8 (PRIME) -- An order to start sabotage against two Russian gas pipelines Nord Streams was given by CIA head William Burns, U.S. journalist Seymour Hersh said on his blog on the Substack platform citing an unspecified source on Wednesday.

"The Agency working group members had no direct contact with the White House, and were eager to find out if the President meant what he’d said—that is, if the mission was now a go. The source recalled, “Bill Burns comes back and says, ‘Do it," the post read.

Preparations for the attack were coordinated by National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, the source said as cited by the journalist.

Hersh confirmed his authorship of the publication to PRIME. "Of course, it was me," he said. The journalist refused to identify his source.
